Crossfire rules!?

Hmm. ATI’s Crossfire architecture is same as NVidia’a SLI. Still I am wondering whether two mid-range graphic cards in Crossfire mode will perform better than single high-end range card. So far, I have tested two ATI X1650 cards with Crossfire on and off. Now, I am waiting for ATI HD2600XT card to arrive in order to complete the tests. I shall post the results shortly. The unseen question here is whether SLI is better than Crossfire?
Well, made the tests. It seams two X1650 card in Crossfire are as fast as one 2600XT. Amazing! Now, I am thinking to run two 2600XT in Crossfire. One note tho, the X1650 are Silent edition, so no noice at all, while the 2600XT card is using standard Sapphire fan. Pity its rpm can’t be controlled and it generated a lot of noise. Imagine what two of them can do.
Well, I have an update. Removed Sapphire bad cooler and replaced it with Arctic Cooling Accelero S2 which allowed me to run ATI 2600XT card in complete silence. Surprise, surprise the temperature went down, too! Now, I’m ready to run two of them in Crossfire!
